MISSION STATEMENT
OF THE
CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP


A district, school, and university partnership designed to establish schools as learning communities that will improve the quality of life for diverse student populations, the capacity of all students to participate in a diverse society, and enable the profession and the university to be more effective in the preparation of new educators and the continuing professional development of practicing educators.
Much of the Center's work is with Professional Development Schools and the Leadership League Schools.In order to accomplish this mission, the schools and the university work as equal partners in the areas of leadership and governance, new educator preparation, curricular reform, staff development, supportive learning environment, parent and community participation, and action research.
 
 

 

 

 

Professional Development Schools


The four CSUH Professional Development Schools are Richmond High School in West Contra Costa USD, 
HavenscourtMiddle School in the Oakland USD, and the Hayward Project School and Glassbrook Elementary 
(Emeritus status) in the Hayward USD.

The Leadership League


The Leadership League is a partnership linking selected schools, agencies, and the Center for Educational Leadership for the purpose of developing effective educational leadership.  The Leadership League is funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and has the following goals:
    • To enable participating schools to achieve their own goals for school change and student success.

Governing Board

The Governing Board meets four times a year and is the policy-making group for the Center.  Members of the Governing Board are:
