Richmond High, in the West Contra Costa School District, has been restructured to create smaller schools within schools to personalize the learning experience.Academy paths link student interest in science, technology or health care to career opportunities and mentors in the community.
Teacher leaders engage colleagues in dialogue about improving practice and sharing in decisions.
Performance and attendance data are used to clarify the needs of racially and ethnically diverse students.
School-wide efforts toward improving students' reading skills have been developed.
